Today I decided to throw a wire dipole up for 10 meters.\nI strung it up between trees in the backyard using some 20lb test braided fishing line.
\nThe band came alive once I got it up where I wanted it!<\/p>\n

The contacts were mostly from the Western United States.
\nAmong the contacts were: Don (WT0S) in North Dakota, Jeff (WD0CXS) in Wichita, Kansas, and even Tony (VA7TF) in Kitimac B.C. Canada.<\/p>\n
I had been hoping to get some European contacts however, I need to reposition my antenna to get eastern signals.<\/p>\n
I have a few antennas, a Buddistick, a Yoyo- Vee dipole, a GRA-1900T Multi-Band HF (160m-6m) that came without instructions, and of course, the 10-meter wire dipole I’m currently using.
\nSo far the wire dipole has worked the best.<\/p>\n
I’ll continue to experiment with antennas and continue posting the results.<\/p>\n

I set up a multiband Yoyo Vee antenna that I bought somewhere around ten years ago.
\nI tossed some string up in a tree and strung up the wires for 10, 17, and 20 meters.
\nI was able to have several chats on ten meters with some hams down in the Louisiana area and one in Belize. On 20 meters I was able to pick up some clear signals, but was unable to reach them so far. Experimentation is what it’s all about.<\/p>\n
